R.O. Shapiro (Bay Area, CA) is a purveyor of original Americana music, carefully crafted and soulfully sung, drawing comparisons to Josh Ritter, Hiss Golden Messenger, and Bahamas. Originally from the very East End of Long Island, NY, he cut his teeth performing in the world-famous live music scene of Austin, TX, and has been perpetually on the road for the better part of a decade. R.O. is a winner of the 2022 Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk songwriting contest, a 2024 NewSong Competition finalist, and has recently toured with May Erlewine, Jeffrey Martin, and Taylor Ashton.
Madeleine Leigh (Gold Hill, CO) is a bass player, multi-instrumentalist, and singer-songwriter. Her passion for the upright bass began at the age of 6, and her classical training provides a foundation for exploring a wide range of musical genres and styles. Leigh spent the past decade in Austin, Texas, performing with her internationally acclaimed world-folk band Ley Line and the bluegrass trio Steel Betty. Throughout her touring career, she has shared the stage with artists such as Bonnie Paine of Elephant Revival and Silas Herman of Leftover Salmon. She has appeared at major music festivals including Kerrville Folk Festival, Austin City Limits, Telluride Bluegrass, and SXSW, and has opened for prominent acts like Billy Strings, The Infamous Stringdusters, and The Wood Brothers.
Shapiro and Leigh are old friends from their Austin days, and are touring together through Colorado and New Mexico this May. Audiences can expect a unique set featuring each of their original songs, some well-loved covers, sweet harmonies, and warm vibes.
